Hi, what's up guys!
Today, I'm going to share another technology that can be used in teaching and learning process in school and other educational institution. Many of you have heard, I believe, the existence of online platform to create, manage and share academic content. However, have you ever come across an application called Schoology? Intentionally or not , the name describes the function itself. The name Schoology, school with suffix -logy denotes a subject of study and interest which makes Schoology: The Study of School or I rephrased as The Study of A Place to Study. Nonetheless, it doesn't make the application functions 100% similar like the school itself. It's just an idea to plant in your mind of how Schoology could benefit you, academically.
Primarily, what is Schoology?
Schoology /skoo.luh.jee/—a learning management system (LMS) that has all the tools your institution needs to create engaging content, design lessons, and assess student understanding.
What are the special features can be explored in Schoology?
As an educator, you must be well-exposed to instrument called Instructional Tools. Schoology is a complete platform from designing lessons to tracking students' performance regardless their pace. You may individualize the instruction as you pleased.
Based on Schoology, users can track performance and engagement as up to par as below:
Our course analytics and student mastery reporting track student engagement and performance against preloaded standards (Common Core, NGSS, etc.) and custom learning objectives. This data enables faculty to make well-informed decisions and even provide instant feedback after a test or quiz.
What is not less important than instruction tools in teaching and learning process? The answer is communication and collaboration. Yes, Schoology allows its users to communicate systemwide instantly. How? Users can use mass updates, in-platform messages, mobile notifications, and more to relay information. Schoology also enables students to be active participants that encourages collaboration, discussion and creativity through online discussion and what not.
Founded in 2009, an organization under Pearson Digital Learning, Schoology always make sure teachers and students do not to carry laptop with them all the time because it also has its own mobile apps. Its mobility enables teachers or instructors to grade works efficiently and easy to provide students with annotation and feedback on-the-spot.
